Emergency Kit Service Project

Kit Contents (Team 1)

Below is the list of items we are working to get for the emergency kits (including the number of each item in parentheses). As a minimum we need 30 kits to meet the housing needs of Bellevue and Issaquah. If we can gather enough material for 100 kits we would be able to cover the entire Hopelink housing system.

  1. 5 Gallon Bucket (1) w/ Lid
    To Store the items for the disaster kit in , it is resealible as well as utilitarian in use
  2. Contractor Bags / 33 Gallon Garbage Bags (10 BAGS)
    Poncho, Keep supplies dry, garbage...Many other uses as well
  3. Flash Light (1)- For dark, and also for search and rescue
  4. Batteries (8) -For radio or flashlight
  5. Small First Aid - Ideally a pre-made kit
    Consisting of at least: small bandages of multiple sizes (2-3 boxes); Neosporin (1 small tube); Generic tylenol; Generic Aspirin (people may be allergic that's why we need both - small 32 tablet Bottles); Isopropyl Wipes (10 units); Kotex Pads Can be used for first aid great for deep bleeding cuts and applying pressure (4 pads); scissors; gloves
  6. Whistle (1)
  7. Permanent Marker (1)
    The govt usually asks that you write your Social Security Number on your arm for Identification
  8. Purrel Hand Sanitizer (1 small bottle)
  9. Toilet Paper (1 roll)
  10. Duct Tape (1 roll)
  11. Food -High calorie emergency bars
    - another option would be MRE or Meals Ready To Eat like what soldiers have (no peanuts - allergies)
  12. Water - Emergency water packets (10)
  13. Space Blankets (4) - for heat
  14. Hand Warmers (4) - for heat
  15. Can opener
  16. Matches and candles
  17. Deck of Cards
