An old proverb states "We are what we eat" - but most of use do not really think about the "food" we consume each day. Today our food, which is largely in the control of a few large corporations, is the center of many of the health, social, political, and environmental issues of our time. Join us this quarter to discuss food and its impact, through a discussion of In Defense of Food by Michael Pollan. This class will also include a trip to a local farm.

The goal of this quarterly “brown bag” seminar is to discuss some of the environmental issues facing the northwest and the world today, through an analysis of current articles and readings. This quarter we will center our discussion on In Defense of Food by Michael Pollan. The seminar may include volunteer work, a field trip, and/or guest lectures. This quarter we plan to arrange a trip to a local farm.
