The oceans of the Earth harbor life, regulate climate, and provide humans with a significant proportion of our food. Yet we dump waste in the ocean, remove fish faster than they can be replenished, and transport invasive species from one side of the world to the other. What effect will these actions have on the health of the oceans and the future of humanity?
The goal of this brown bag seminar is to discuss
some of the environmental issues facing the northwest and the world today,
through an analysis of current articles and the book Oceans End.
The seminar may include volunteer work, a field trip, and guest lectures.
