What is Wilderness?

How do we:
...determine the health of wilderness?
...identify areas that have been impacted by human activities?
...restore degraded streams and parks to their natural state?
...determine if our restoration projects are working?

What difference does it make?

Join us this spring to discuss these questions and more!

The goal of this “brown bag” seminar is to discuss some of the environmental issues facing the northwest and the world today, through an analysis of current articles and resources provided by BCC’s scholar-in-residence, Stella Williams and local restoration project organizers. The seminar will include volunteer work, a field trip, and guest lectures.

Instructors: Rob Viens (Environmental Science/Geology),
Kent Short (Oceanography/Meteorology), &
Stella Williams (Fullbright Visiting Scholar)

(For information about this seminar, web page, or the environmental science department at BCC contact Rob Viens at rviens@bcc.ctc.edu.)
